RMI® Cold Storage Rooms - Features & Benefits

High R-Value Urethane Foam – All wall and ceiling panels are made with Class 1 flamespread, 4” thick 90% closed cell urethane with uniform low density and high R-value. No high density edges, or hard rails to lower thermal efficiency.

No Wood – Urethane filled panels contain no wood or wood by-products that might swell or deteriorate with age.

Environmentally Friendly – All RMI panels are foamed using urethane processes that are in full compliance with current Montreal Protocols.

Custom Dimensions & Angled Corners – All RMI walk-in units are custom fabricated to fit virtually any configuration in order to maximize space utilization.

Positive Cam-Lock Construction – Imbedded long-wing cam-lock fasteners provide easy assembly and disassembly as well as tight, strong, and secure panel joints.

Dual Perimeter Gasket Seals – Two rows of double-bubble PVC gasketing are foamed into panel edges do not distort or pull out during assembly and provide the best possible panel seal. Tight joints don’t leak thereby improving operational efficiency.

One-Piece Tee Panels – Fully foamed, onepiece Tee panels secure interior walls for increased structural integrity as well as a full thermal break between compartments.

Fascia Materials to Specification – RMI cold storage units can be specified from more that a dozen different fascia materials and sizes. Materials range from galvanized steel, aluminum, and stainless steel as well as FRP. Thickness can be from 26 to 18 gauge. Finishes include stucco embossed, polished, painted, and anodized.

Internal Wall Anchoring Brackets – All walls include internal lock-down anchoring brackets to provide tight and secure floor attachment.

Welded One-Piece Door Sections – All RMI doors have welded, ground, and polished corners that tremendously improves door strength and longevity. Strong corners dramatically resist door delamination, a common cause of door failure.

Pre-assembled Door & Door Frames - All doors are pre-hung on the frame in a vertical test jig to insure proper fit and closure. Unit is shipped assembled in separate crate to prevent handling damage.

Custom Sized Door Frames – One-piece door frame panels are custom made to match the ceiling height. This improves thermal efficiency by reducing the number of critical panel seams.

Field-Replaceable Freezer Door Heaters – RMI freezer doors now include heater elements that are easily replaced in the field.

Heavy Duty Tapping Plates – Heavy 3/16’ thick steel tapping plates are provided at all fastening points inside door and frame for secure and positive hardware mounting.

Full Size Door Openings – All RMI doors provide full width clear openings. For example, a 36” RMI door provides a full 36” wide clear opening.

Door Hinges – All 36” and smaller RMI doors have 3 hinges while 42” and larger doors have four hinges. Each hinge is constructed with a nylon cam, stainless steel pin, and zinc die cast and polished chrome finish.

Master Keyed Locks – Deadbolt door locks can be master-keyed to the kitchen if desired.

Large Triple Pane Viewports – All door windows are triple pane safety glass and are specially heated for freezers to prevent condensation buildup. Available sizes include 15” x 20” and 20” x 42”.

All Stainless Fasteners – All fasteners used in RMI construction are made from 18 ga stainless steel, completely eliminating the possibility of rust formation.

Internal Electrical Conduit – All electrical connections can be made using conduit provided within walls so there is no unsightly, surfacemount electrical wiring.

Weatherproof Junction Boxes – Electrical junction boxes are die-cast and gasketed to prevent moisture accumulation.

Light Switches – Each door is provided with both an inside and outside light press switch with weather tight hypalon cover and safety nightlight.

Approvals – All RMI boxes are UL, NSF certified, CEC Compliant.
